Inspiration Monday: Birthday Bucket List

Hello, fine folks!

{Scheduling mishap, so I’m posting now.}

I’m not going to lie, I scrambled a little in trying to find a new subject for this week’s Inspiration Monday post.  Through all the craziness that was the week and -end, I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.  And that’s what Inspiration Monday is supposed to be about!

But it hit me as I was going over the week’s events that I had a pretty good subject at hand, I just didn’t know it.

Saturday was my birthday.  My 26th to be exact.  And while I’m not one who usually makes any kind of resolutions, I thought this year might be different.  For the simple reason that for the first time in awhile I didn’t freak out about turning another year older.  From 23-25, I think I cried at least once on each of my birthdays.  Not tears of joy, I might add.  My life just hasn’t turned out like I thought it would.  (Cue the melodramatic music…)

Since there were no tears for #26 (only tears from laughing so hard at people), I thought about making a list of the things I wanted to accomplish this year.  It’s not a new 10-year-plan or anything (I’ve had one since I was in junior high – I don’t think it’s working.  Or it needs to be re-evaluated…as all plans do).  Just a list of things that will (hopefully!) make me happier, smarter, nicer, healthier, blah blah blah, etc.  You know, all the good -ers.  ;]

My list so far (that might serve as inspiration for your own list or life in general):

1.] Take a road trip

2.] Take a cooking class (like something cool – let’s sous vide!)

3.] Hike to the Hollywood sign

4.] Create a custom dessert station backdrop

5.] Attend another bridal show (as a vendor)! ;]

6.] See the Backstreet Boys in concert (I will forever be an 8-year-old fourth grader at heart!)

7.] Spend some good quality time with my momma <3

8.] Continue the “Inspiration Monday” series posts until the end of the year (fingers crossed, guys!)

9.] Go paintballing

10.] Read five new books (good lit books, not trashy chick lit – not that I don’t have love for chick lit.  I do! My library is full of it! Swear!)

11.] Plan three new events

12.] Add five new flavors to That Sweet Shoppe

13.] Visit a flea market and refurbish one new piece to add to the KML collection

14.] Add printables to our online store

When your birthday comes around (or if it already has), what’s on your Birthday Bucket List?
